Central Texas Mold Testing, Consulting & Remediation Protocol
Travis County • Bastrop County • Hays County • Williamson County
Mold can be found almost anywhere – indoors and outdoors – thriving in areas with moisture. Unfortunately, this means it can also spread rapidly throughout your home or workplace.
If left unabated, mold can cause health risks and property damage. Mold remediation is a critical step toward ensuring your home or business is a safe environment for all.
Mold removal, or mold remediation, is the process of removing mold and treating surfaces and materials that have been contaminated. The methods used for removing mold vary, depending on the type of mold in the home and the extent of its effects on the materials.
If you think you have a mold issue in your home or business, the experts at AusTex Environmental Solutions are here to help.
Locally owned in Austin, we will meet with you to discuss your mold concerns, evaluate the issues, and then work with you to develop a plan that will address any mold found in your home or business.
Where Does Mold Come From?
Mold enters your house or place of work in the form of tiny spores. These spores need moisture to begin growing, digesting, and spreading. Mold grows best when there is moisture in the environment from high humidity, a leaky roof or pipe, or a flood. Molds can appear on almost any surface, including:
- Any structural material in your home (drywall, flooring, cabinets, wood studs, etc.)
- Personal Belongings
- HVAC systems
The best way to control mold growth is by keeping your home dry. Mold removal or remediation, however, is not a do-it-yourself project. Mold remediation work is regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and requires a licensed mold remediation contractor to do the work. Attempting to clean mold with household chemicals like bleach can lead to mold spreading, creating an even worse problem for your home or business. Cleaning with household methods only treats the symptoms of molding, not the cause. If the source of mold is not resolved, the results will only be temporary and your health will still be at risk.
AusTex Environmental Solutions is your local expert to evaluate and address any mold concerns in your home or business. Mold can often go undetected for extended periods of time before showing visible signs on the surface level. This means your health could be at risk without you knowing it. If you are concerned about mold in your home or business, call AusTex Environmental Solutions right away to schedule a professional evaluation.
How Long Does Mold Remediation Take?
The duration of the mold remediation process depends on a variety of factors, including the extent of the mold that is present, where the mold has spread, and the materials the mold has grown on. After our mold consultant evaluates your specific situation, we can better assess the length of time remediation will take in your home or business.
You may need AusTex’s skilled and qualified help in identifying the source of the mold and putting together a plan to get rid of all mold inside your home or work space. At AusTex Environmental Solutions, your health and safety is our top priority. Call us to schedule an inspection today!
